Decriminalization
Decriminalization is the term used to describe cannabis regulations that do not impose jail time or criminal records for small-scale marijuana possession. Cannabis use is no longer illegal in several US states. Possession of marijuana is regarded as a minor civil offense in countries where this kind of regulation has been put into place. For the most part, first-time small-scale personal marijuana possession carries no criminal record, no jail term, and no arrest due to the decriminalization of cannabis offenses.
