Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA)
The molecular precursor of the well-known cannabinoid CBD (Cannabidiol) is called CBDA, or cannabidiolic acid. It is found in the flowers of female cannabis plants and undergoes a process called decarboxylation to transform into CBD. When a plant is exposed to sunshine or another heat source, this occurs. The term "decarboxylation" describes the molecular sequence of the substance losing one oxygen and two carbon atoms.
